About the Bridgeland High School Band
Established in 2017, the Bridgeland Band is a 6A program with nearly 400 wind, percussion, and colorguard members. It is located at Bridgeland High School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD on the northwest side of Houston. CFISD is consistently awarded the “Best Communities for Music Education” national designation from the NAMM Foundation.
The Bridgeland Marching Band is a regular BOA Regional finalist and was named a finalist at the BOA San Antonio Super Regional in 2023, as well as a BOA Grand National Finalist in 2024. The program has been named UIL Area I Champion three times and has advanced to the 6A UIL State Marching Championships in San Antonio for five consecutive years, making the 6A State Finals in both 2023 and 2024. In 2023, the band received the prestigious Sudler Shield from the John Philip Sousa Foundation. The Bridgeland Band was recently selected as the demonstration group for the 2025 Texas Bandmasters Association Convention in San Antonio.
Bridgeland has five concert bands that compete at the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation each year. The bands have earned Sweepstakes ratings every year since the school opened, and in 2023 the Wind Symphony was named a Mark of Excellence Commended Winner. Band members participate in the TMEA All-Region and All-State audition process, as well as UIL Solo & Ensemble in the Spring. The band also collaborates with the Bridgeland Orchestra to create the Bridgeland Symphony Orchestra, which was invited to perform at the 2023 Midwest Clinic in Chicago.
The Bridgeland Colorguard and Percussion have shown great success at TCGC and WGI competitions during their winter seasons. In 2022, the Varsity Guard was a finalist at WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH and in 2025, the Indoor Percussion placed 2nd in Scholastic World Class at WGI World Championships.
